PH digital national ID formats: printable, downloadable, mobile
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said there are three digital national ID card formats: printable, downloadable, and mobile.
PSA released a statement on July 27, 2022, announcing its target of delivering 30 million physical cards and 20 million digital IDs this year.
The government agency noted that the pilot test for the printable national ID might start in October 2022.
The printable digital ID format would contain security features like those found in physical cards. It also comes with a unique digital signature embedded in a QR code for safe authentication, which can be verified through the PhilSys check.
Meanwhile, the mobile version of the PhilID card may be available before the end of 2022.
The PSA cited that the digital PhilID system is part of their 'proactive strategy' enabling registrants to print, download, or generate a digital national ID card, which can serve as temporary copies as they wait for their physical cards to be delivered. And these processes only need their upcoming mobile app.

Fred Solleta, the Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office, guaranteed that the PhilID, regardless of its format, would be functional and accepted as valid proof of identification.
PSA also added that acquiring all formats of PhilID cards will be free of charge.
