vivo, iQOO list phones to get Funtouch OS 13 for 2022-2023

vivo has launched the new Funtouch OS 13 for global users. Based on Android 13, this upgraded operating system combines vivo's design-driven value with new and improved customization options, upgraded privacy and security features, and new control features for a more seamless, uninterrupted experience.

Moreover, the mobile brand has released the 2022-2023 roadmap for Funtouch OS 13 (Android 13) update, detailing the schedule and list of vivo and iQOO smartphones to get the latest Android version.

Features of Funtouch OS 13

Improved Personalization

The Funtouch OS 13 provides enhanced visual control over the home screen for users. With the monochrome icon feature, users can change the color of home screen icons to match their wallpaper, system, and app interfaces.

In addition, the vivo's new skin enables users to customize the colors of their system's user interface and built-in applications, such as notification panels, volume control, calculator, and clock. It can use the color from the user's preferred wallpaper and theme to determine the appropriate color tint, then apply it to the app interface to give the device a more personalized appearance and feel.

Enhanced Protection and Security

The new app pinning feature helps to maintain sensitive data secure, providing users with greater security and privacy assurance. When another user accesses the device, the two-level pinning feature keeps the selected app visible and blocks access to other apps. This feature enables greater flexibility by allowing the owner to set parameters and control the allowed actions within the pinned mobile app when the device is in the hands of multiple users.

Further, this update enables users to hide photos and videos as well as choose which mobile apps have access to specific photos, preventing unwanted viewing on their devices and enhancing privacy protection.

Improved Controls

To create a more streamlined experience for vivo users, Funtouch OS 13 includes enhanced application management, the iManager, which can monitor app usage time in particular. If the CPU usage is excessive, users can terminate the application with a single tap. Additionally, iManager can prevent overheating by reducing the number of active applications and adjusting CPU frequency in accordance with the Phone's cooling feature.

In addition to weather updates, the dashboard includes an AQI card for health-conscious users who want instant access to the most recent information regarding air quality, including a detailed PM2.5 index.

With vivo's reputation for providing a premium mobile photography experience, new photo and video enhancements are anticipated. A new stabilization ring on the professional viewfinder facilitates photography by mitigating the effects of shaky hands.

The new operating system has also improved the video editing process, allowing users to muffle the video's audio while editing the footage as well as to make precise volume adjustments on each video segment, thereby facilitating the creation of professional-quality videos.

The option to disable animations for users with specific requirements, such as visual impairments, has been added to the accessibility controls.
