That said, developing a winning morning is just a matter of building a few great habits.
To help you get started and follow an easy but effective morning routine, you simply need to follow these 10 steps.
1. Wake Up Early
Following in the footsteps of all great entrepreneurs, the key to a successful morning routine starts with an early wakeup call.
To get the most out of your day, set your alarm 2-3 hours before you need to be at your workplace and spend these hours on personal development.
What’s important to note here is that you should avoid snoozing - however difficult it may be, just get out of bed once your alarm goes off.
2. Make a Coffee
Before you start your day, make a cup of coffee to help you wake up in a good mood.
If you don’t like coffee, just swap this with a beverage of your choice such as a tea, a smoothie or your favourite juice!
3. Get Organised
While you’re enjoying your coffee, get organised for the day.
Create a to-do list for personal and work errands; this could include tasks like personal learning, networking, cleaning and exercise.
Don’t worry if your list is too long; you can just drag things that you haven’t completed across to the next day.
4. Exercise
Some people prefer to exercise once they’re done with work for the day, but many studies show that working out in the morning is more efficient and provides us with more energy to get through the day.
Whereas exercising in the evening just leaves us with unwanted energy that could even negatively affect our sleeping patterns.
5. Shower and Get Ready
Once you’ve finished with your workout, it’s time to shower and get ready for the day!
To help avoid time-wasting, lay out your outfit and accessories from the night before, and have any skincare in arms reach to prevent mindless wondering.
6. Eat a Healthy Breakfast
Now that you’ve cleared your mind, you’re going to need to fuel your body.
To stay energetic, you’ll need to eat the right food that includes protein, vitamins and fibre, such as Avocado and eggs or oats.
7. Check Your Emails
If you commute to work via public transport, then there’s no better time to get one of your tasks out of the way before you arrive in the office.
That said, if you drive into work, try to check your emails as you’re waking up in the morning and having your coffee.
You’ll know what’s on the agenda for the day so that you don’t have to waste time when you get to work.
8. Do Some Learning
Commuting is also a great time to get some learning in – you can use your journey to read some industry news or listen to an inspirational podcast.
What’s important is to aim to learn something new each day to continue expanding your mind and skillset.
9. Have Your Most Important Meeting First
Meetings can be a large time-killer but are an essential part of any business.
So, to have a productive meeting, schedule it for the first thing in the morning.
That way, you can have a productive brainstorming session by also avoiding the afternoon slump.
10. Do The Hardest Thing on Your To-Do List
Once your meetings are out of the way, you can focus on your most laborious task!
It’s better to get through the most important thing on your list when you have limited distractions and have the momentum to put your head down.
By doing so, you'll be able get through the rest of your workload at a faster pace.
Now that you know how to build a strong morning routine, you’ll be on the road to a more productive lifestyle.
