Spotify Premium and Apple Music PH price update for 2022

Spotify Premium and Apple Music get a price increase
Both Spotify Premium and Apple Music have announced pricing increases for their services. The cost of licensing is among the main causes of the increase.
For the Individual Plan, Spotify Premium increases the monthly cost from PHP 129 to PHP 149. This represents a significant PHP 20 increase. Additionally, the Family Plan raised from PHP 194 per month to PHP 214 per month.
Apple Music is also increasing its price from PHP 129 per month to PHP 139 per month. Subscribers received an email regarding this. The price hike will be shown on their monthly bill beginning the next month, on December 16, 2022.
List of Spotify Premium and Apple Music Plans in 2022
Here are the updated prices for both music streaming services:
- Spotify Premium
- Mini Plan - PHP 7 per day
- Individual Plan - PHP 149 per month
- Duo Plan - PHP 185 per month
- Family Plan - PHP 214 per month
- Apple Music
- Student Plan - PHP 75 per month
- Individual Plan - PHP 139 per month
- Family Plan - PHP 219 per month
Apple One also announced a pricing increase, with its Individual Plan increasing to PHP 449 per month from PHP 375. The Family Plan is now PHP 579 per month, up from PHP 495 per month.
Spotify Premium vs. Apple Music
Both music streaming platforms offer similar Premium plan features, such as:
- Ad-free, on-demand playback
- Full access to the entire content library
- Option to download songs for offline listening
- Multi-device accessibility
- Extensive non-music content
However, they do differ in terms of audio streaming quality:
- Spotify Premium
- Max audio streaming quality: 320kbps
- Max desktop quality: 320kbps
- Supported Formats: AAC, Ogg Vorbis
- Apple Music
- Max audio streaming quality: 24bit / 192kHz
- Max desktop quality: 256kbps
- Supported Formats: AAC
