Once Human, horror shooter PC game, unveils gameplay trailer
Starry Studio has revealed a new gameplay trailer for the multiplayer action/horror shooter Once Human at the PC Gaming Show 2023 Preview event.
The trailer featured a battle demo largely recorded in-game. Compared to the first trailer shown at the IGN Summer of Gaming event, the game's graphics and performance have been significantly enhanced, and the combat system has been made more fluid and responsive to the player's actions. Once Human's New Weird aesthetic was inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and aimed to evoke the same sense of beauty and horror found within a survival sandbox game.
The new Once Human trailer showcased some of the wide variety of gameplay mechanics that players can expect to find in the final game. These include the ability to drive around the post-apocalyptic world, explore monster-filled ruins, battle epic boss monsters for loot, craft new equipment, and even fight other human players for their equipment. Once Human will also allow players to construct buildings anywhere on the open world map and collect/modify an arsenal of more than 100 weapons.
The trailer not only showed exciting pitched-battles, where players face off against horrific monsters while searching for supplies, but it also announced the PC beta test will launch on January 6, 2023.
Game Information
Once Human is a sandbox survival game created by Starry Studio in which teams of players use weapons and supernatural abilities to survive against the Aberrant: horrifyingly mutated monsters that have decimated humanity and left ruined cities in their wake.
In keeping with the "New Weird" genre, which combines the aesthetics and themes of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, the game's formidable foes that threaten the last remnants of humanity evoke a strong sense of unease.
Conflict is also closer to home, as the remaining humans are compelled by their rationality to compete for diminishing resources. Or risk total annihilation, players must band together to unite humanity, defeat the Aberrant threat, and uncover the secrets of their enemies.
Once Human is planned to release in Q4 2023, but those who sign up now can gain access to the New Weird and experience Once Human early.
