7 Dry Skin Treatments And Cares In Winters

A feeling of dry skin is the first indicator that winter has arrived, cold climate has arrived. We start to feel rough skin, rough texture, scalyness as soon as the weather changes. It is important to look after your skin, especially in winter. Not following the skin care routine can cause irritated skin, cracked skin, itching, burning and redness.

In addition to climate change, lack of hydration, lack of nutrients. Not wearing suitable, winter protection, clothing, and so on are the causes of all these symptoms. Today, we are going to talk about some effective home remedies that help to moisturise and repair dry skin.

1. Body Mist 

Body mists are quick remedies for dry skin and it keeps the skin hydrated throughout the day. Spraying plain water on your skin will make skin more dehydrated and tight. Hence the moisturizing agent should be included in the body mist. Try this hibiscus and rosewater face spray, it is very useful for people with sensitive and excessive dry skin. Take four to five hibiscus flower in that add glass of water boil it for 10 minutes, and then cool and strain the liquid, and then mix teaspoon of rose water in it. Fill this liquid in a spray bottle and carry it with you all the time. Spray, every 2 to 3 hours or whenever you feel your skin is dry.

2. Tulsi and Honey 

Tulsi leaves or basil leaves have numerous health and beauty advantage. It is high in vitamins and electrolytes mineral and python nutrients. Tulsi contains vital oil that nourishes and moisturizes skin. Honey also possesses anti-inflammatory hydrating and therapeutic effect that really helps to cure dryness. Take a bunch of Tulsi leaves in grinder. Add a little water and make a paste. Add a spoon of Honey to this paste and then apply all over the body for a healthy and a soft skin.Wash off with warm water after 15 minutes.

3. Malai & Masoor Dal

Our facial skin is thinner and more sensitive than the skin of the body, therefore we must treat it with greater care. It is important to moisturize your face regularly, especially in winter. This malai and masoor dal face pack is really good for excessively dry skin. Our ancestors have used malai that milk cream regularly as a moisturizers. Masoor dal, improves skin health and it also exfoliates dead skin cells gently. Take one tablespoon malai add one and a half teaspoon of powdered masoor daal in that. Mix It thoroughly, apply this thick paste entirely on the face evenly. After 15 minutes, wash it out and you will notice very clearly soft and silky skin. You can also apply malai directly on the lips to prevent dryness and it also prevents chapping of lip during winter. For lip, understand one thing very clearly, don't touch your lip with your tongue and make it wet now and then, rather apply this malai and that would help you tremendously.

4. Oil 

Jojoba oil is beneficial for both combination and dry skin type. It's moisturizing property helps your skin to retain water and thus prevent skin dryness because jojoba oil helps balancing your skin's natural oil. It's ideal for combination skin. It is also Anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. After shower, apply jojoba oil throughout the body, it would treat dryness, flaky, redness, itchiness and other problems. Apart from jojobal oil, almond oil, coconut oil, argon oil are a few excellent oils for dry skin and condition that causes dry skin such as eczema.

5. Avoid Long Shower

In winter we would love to have a long hot water bath because of the cold winter climate. However hot water can deprive your skin of its natural oil and that would leave your skin dry and harsh. It is best to bathe with lukewarm water and also a quick shower, limiting your bath time from five to seven minutes. Do remember that you should avoid harsh soap, which will dry your skin instantly. If you have to use soap then use glycerin based soaps.

6. Drink Adequate Water

We don't feel quite thirsty in winter & therefore we don't drink adequate water. This can also cause skin dryness. Remember to take eight glasses of water at least and stay hydrated. Also you can include fruit juices, milk, buttermilk, coconut water etc in your routines. 

7. Consume Diet

Make sure to consume diet, which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as flax seeds and walnuts, as well as anti-oxidant rich food, such as fresh vegetables, and fresh fruits. All this will keep your skin healthy and avoid dryness. 

Don't forget to wear gloves, shawl or a pullover to keep your skin away from coming into direct contact with breeze and cold. So keep all these little helpful tips in your mind and you will be able to enjoy winter without worrying about dry skin, irritation of skin, scratchiness on skin and so on.
