Polaris Esports are the APAC Predator League 2022 champions
Polaris Esports were hailed APAC Predator League 2022 champions after defeating fellow Filipino squad Execration, 2-1, in the grand finals of the tournament, held in Tokyo, Japan, on November 13.
In Game 1, Execration's Jinn "Palos" Lamatao's masterclass performance on Pudge led the squad to take a 30-minute victory with a landslide 38-15 kill advantage against Polaris. Palos recorded 11 kills and 16 assists against one death.
In Game 2, Pudge was, this time, picked by Polaris' John Anthony "Natsumi" Vargas. Along with Mc Nicholson "Lelouch" Villanueva on his Leshrac, Polaris Esports snowballed in the second game to force a decisive match.
Carrying their momentum, Polaris Esports outplayed Execration in Game 3, as they managed to play a fast-paced game. They ended the third game at the 25-minute mark and secured the victory.
With their win, Polaris Esports bagged the lion's share of USD 75,000 (~ PHP 4.3 million) out of the tournament's USD 120,000 prize pool and the prestigious Predator Shield.
Meanwhile, runners-up Execration took home USD 30,000 prize money. Third placer GrindSky Esports received USD 15,000.
