Globe tops Netflix ISP Speed Index for 10th straight month (Oct 2022 data)

Subscription streaming service Netflix has released its report for October 2022 ISP Speed Index for the Philippines, ranking selected internet service providers (ISPs) in the country based on their performance.

As per the latest data, Globe secured the top spot on the leaderboard, recording an average speed of 3.6 Mbps.

Meanwhile, Converge, Sky Cable, and PLDT shared the second spot, registering 3.4 Mbps.

Third-placer Royal Cable posted an average speed of 3.0 Mbps.

According to the report, PLDT and Globe Telecom have fiber and DSL (digital subscriber line) networks. Moreover, Royal Cable, Sky Cable, and Converge ICT Solutions provide two types of internet: fiber and cable.

Globe Telecom's broadband arm Globe At Home has dominated the charts for the 10th straight month. See the reports for January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, and September.

Globe's score in the October 2022 Netflix ISP Index was also comparable to other countries that experience excellent Netflix speeds.

Among the countries that also reached the same 3.6 Mbps speeds for October 2022 were Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, and the United States.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index identifies which internet service providers offer the optimal viewing experience during peak viewing hours. The ranking is based on subscribers' data collected from the online video streaming platform.

Netflix streaming requires a speed index because its videos load seamlessly on networks with faster data transmission and minimal delays. If not, viewers may experience buffering and pixelation issues when streaming media.
