So now, let's start this post with the unboxing of this projector. This is the Borsso Moon 8.1 FHD projector. Inside the box, apart from the remote, there is an AV cable, a power cord and a Borsso card.
The built quality and design of the projector are pretty good. In all white, this projector looks pretty elegant and stylish. Apart from this, it is also quite compact.
On the connectivity front, this projector has 1 HDMI port, 2 USB ports, a headphone jack and an AV port.
So now, let me make you aware of the company-claimed features and specifications. This projector comes with 6000 Lumens and a 10000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
It comes with single-band Wi-Fi and supports casting for both Android and iOS devices. It comes with an electronic zoom and the claimed LED life is 50,000 hours.
It has a 15-degree manual keystone correction and manual focusing. For audio, there is a 3-Watt speaker.
Now let's talk about the real performance of this projector. Here, I would like to tell you that this projector beats many of the costlier projectors in picture quality.
At this price, you do not get any other FHD projector. The brightness of this projector is pretty satisfactory, enough to watch even dark scenes comfortably.
The colour reproduction of this projector is also very good. You get to see vibrant colours on it that are pretty close to accuracy.
On it, you get to see deep Blacks that are better than many other projectors in the market.
The pictures are detailed and have much clarity in them, because of which movies and shows are much more enjoyable on it.
For a long time, many of you had been asking me to suggest any good projector under 15k but I was hesitant in doing so because I was not satisfied with the performance of any of the projectors in this price bracket.
But this projector impressed me with its performance. Even at this low price, this projector gives you a pretty good cinematic experience. Whether you watch movies on it or connect it to your set-top box, it is apt for both uses.
Now coming to its audio, it is clear and pretty audible in a small-sized room, but for a cinematic experience, you will need a soundbar with it. It comes with an AV port, you can connect any soundbar through it.
For the best screen formation, you need to keep the projector in the centre of the screen from where you are projecting it.
Through the focus wheel and the keystone correction ring, you can form a rectangular screen to a large extent, but do remember that in none of the budget projectors you get 100% focus.
You will certainly get 5% to 10% blur on any corner of the screen. However, while watching pictures you will not see any blur. This blur is only visible when any text is displayed and it is totally normal.
I am projecting this projector on a 130-inch simple white screen and even then its performance is pretty good.
The noise of its fan is also negligible. Even when you play it for long hours, it doesn't heat up that much.
I have been repeatedly telling you that none of the projectors come with an official Android. This is the reason why apart from YouTube, you get very low resolution in all other applications. This is the reason why you need to buy an Android TV box with every projector.
The good thing about this projector is that this is the basic model and because of this its price is less, so, and you don't need to pay extra for a worthless Android operating system.
However, you get Wi-Fi and even a casting feature on it. You can connect this projector to any Android TV box and access OTT content on it.
Apart from this, you can also connect this projector to your set-top box, DVD player, PlayStation & FireTV Stick. It is fully compatible with all of them.
This projector gives you a cinema-hall-like big-screen experience, within the confines of your home. Though you can project a more than 200-inches screen through it,
I will suggest, for the best viewing experience keeping it limited to 150 inches.
So friends, only this much for today, meet you in my next post, till then, take care and stay safe.
