Farrukhabad printing is the study of history as well as fragile block printing from the town in Uttar Pradesh with the legends and stories of artisans. the painting is not only famous in India but is worldwide appreciated. 
 History
 The history of the Farrukhabad style of calico printing can probably trace back to the 18th century. It is believed that the first Bangash Nawab, Muhammad Khan is believed to be the founder of farrukhabad block printing. While the proofs of activities comes from the thousands years ago. According to Muslim historians, the Nawab made special provisions in his city plan of the city for the construction of separate quarters given to the association of block printers called sadhs. They are later known as Sathwaras.
Traditionally believe that block print belongs to the Asian town of kanauj, Which at that time flourished in the industry of printed clothes. Lucknow block print also probably had a common origin. This is the reason  the products, of these block prints can be hardly differentiated with few changes Seen in the motifs. The Farrukhabad Block print however influenced by the position tree of life pattern with a profusion of green leaves also in the subdued background the polka dots saw, The festoon of flowers encircling corners can be seen in the Farrukhabad block print borders.

Techniques
 Both the techniques screen printing and block printing are used in the farrukhabad printing. Natural dyes as well synthetic dyes are used. The famous colors are yellow, blue, and red with supportive colors like brown, green and orange.
 The process included with the treatment of the fabric to remove impurities, wax, fats and chemicals through simmering, Designing, sourcing, and a few times bleaching. The desired color solutions are prepared by thickening it with gum named Arabic paste and pouring it into a shallow wooden vessel with the bamboo scratching floats.
The designs are called on wooden blocks and now with brass also. usually the block is deepened into color into the various strainer in a particular manner and even out as there is uniform paste on the fabric by hand and this process is repeated.
 screen printing involves screens that are commonly prepared in the photographic method. Which includes the application of colors through squeegees and the processing of the fabric with an acid wash. The final process involves drying, steaming, calendaring, cutting, and finishing the fabric.
Usage
 farrukhabad print process includes scarves, stones, fabric, sarees, gent's mufflers, shawls, bed sheets, cushions, covers, curtains, and much more. It is also one of the important places on the export map of the world of silk and cotton prints.

Present-day scenario
The present-day scenario even during the period of machine-based printing has dominated the market. The advent of machines without any tough made the art fading. But recently with NGOs and government push, the art  stand face to face with the customers. Those who can understand manual labor can know the worth of farrukhabad printing labour.
