Oppo Enco Buds 2 Review - Great TWS Earphone
Vemuda Techno - Oppo has been releasing some really amazing audio gear throughout their lineup, and today we’re checking out the new Enco Buds 2, which are quite different in design than their earlier version.
These come in at just 1800 Rs., and I am actually kind of excited because it’s not easy to find non compromised TWS earphones in this budget, so let’s see how well Oppo delivers this time.
1. Design
I really like the design of the case, as I find this pebble looking case to be kind of cute.
The lid is not wobbly at all, and snaps back into place nicely, and this light blue color inside this black case also looks cool.

The LED light on this is at the bottom next to the USB C charging port, which is a bit difficult to see, but it’s just a minor issue.
This time the Enco Buds have a stem coming out of the buds, and I really like the shape of these earphones, because they fit really well in my ears, and these are really one of the most comfortable earphones that I have tried, so I have no issues in wearing them for hours.
2. Controls
It’s also really great to have all the functions available on their touch controls, you can change tracks, and control volume by holding your touch, and then you can also go to the HeyMelody app where you will be able to set play pause controls to the single tap, and you can also set it to activate Google Assistant and the low latency mode for gaming.
I did notice that I accidently activated the single tap a lot, which I used for play pause, so maybe that’s why they disabled it by default, but at this price point, this set of complete controls is really nice to have.
They even have a camera control function with a double tap, but that will only work with Oppo phones.
3. Connectivity and Gaming Latency Test
The Enco Buds 2 connect really quickly to your phone just as you open their lid with quick pair, and we have Bluetooth 5.2 here with support for AAC codec for high quality playback.
The low latency mode that they have also works decently well, and you will find them to be usable for gaming, unlike many other earphones in this budget.
4. Battery Life and Water Resistance
Coming to their battery life, the earbuds alone lasted for 7 hours in my test, and they can last for a total of 28 hours with the case, and that is a very good result for a pair of earphones that are as light as them with their case. We also have fast charging on board with a 10 minute charge letting you play them for an hour.
IPX4 water resistance is also present on these, which will keep them safe from splashes of water or sweat.
5. Sound Quality
Finally let’s talk about sound quality, and I am very happy that the Enco Buds 2 deliver really great sound for their price.
Generally, you will find that the earphones are too bass boosted or V shaped in this segment, and even though the Enco Buds also have a V shaped sound, it’s not overdone, so you will find a decent balance of sound in your music.
The bass that we have here is boosted a bit too much though, and it does bleed into the mids, but I think most people are going to find it to be okay.
If you are an audiophile who likes a more balanced sound, you can get some really nice results by slightly reducing their bass and treble with Equalizer settings like these, and it will also make their bass tighter, without losing on the amount of it, because by default, it can sound a bit loose.
The vocals on these also sound good, so you can enjoy your favourite singers, and generally that is not the case with earphones of this price.
The treble here is boosted, but again it’s not done in a bad way, and these actually have more controlled treble than their previous version, which is great news.
The soundstage is nice on these earphones, and you do get good separation of instruments.
So overall, the sound is really good for the price, but the bass can feel a little loose on their default settings, which you can fix with an equalizer, and they also sound great without using equalizer.
6. Conclusion
So in conclusion, it is really great to see how complete this product is in the budget segment, and they even have features that much more earphones don’t have.
The design is great, the comfort is excellent, the complete set of controls works really well, the low latency mode also works, the battery life is great, and along with all of this, they also sound really great.
So at just 1800 Rs., I think that they really are a no brainer if you’re looking for a pair of true wireless earphones on a budget, because there are just no compromises with the functionality or the sound.
Leave your thoughts in the comments, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next one.
