Infinix 32Y1 TV Review

Vemuda Techno - Today I have brought for you a 32 inches smart TV which everybody can afford. This 32 inches TV that comes at even a lower price than any budget phone comes with a very good picture and audio quality.

Manufactured in India, this is that flat-screen TV, which even a low-salaried person can proudly flaunt amongst his relatives and friends, apart from enjoying its beautiful picture quality along with his family. The picture quality of this TV can contend with any 32 inches TV of a higher brand.

So now, let's start this post with the unboxing of this TV. Available at a price of only Rs 8,999, this is the Infinix 32 inches smart TV, whose model number is 32Y1.

Inside the box, apart from the TV, there are two pieces of the tabletop stand, 4 screws, a Wall mount, a remote, 2 triple A batteries, a user manual and a warranty card.

Coming to its built quality; despite being constructed out of plastic, the built quality of this TV is good. The TV does not look cheap from any angle, in fact, high-grade plastic material has been used in the construction of this TV.

Both, from the front and the back, the TV looks elegant. The TV is bezel-less from three sides, and, the bottom bezel is also slim, on the centre of which, Infinix branding is given. Both the legs, which are robust in looks, match perfectly with the Black shiny bezel of the TV.

On the back, there is a decent design and the placement of the ports has been given on the right side. On the left side, there are the physical buttons, which enable you to operate this TV in an emergency, even without a remote.

The built quality of the remote is decent and on it, you get direct buttons to YouTube and Prime video.

This TV comes with 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports. Apart from this, there is an Ethernet port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a co-axial digital port. The TV comes with single-band Wi-Fi.

Now let's talk about the company-given specifications. This is an HD Ready TV that comes with DLED backlighting. The TV has 250 Nits brightness and a 60 Hz refresh rate. It supports HLG.

On the audio front, this TV has 2 speakers and 2 subwoofers, whose total power output is 20 Watts RMS. This TV supports Dolby audio along with surround sound.

It is a smart TV that comes with LINUX operating system. So these were the company-given specifications, now, let's talk about the ground performance of this TV.

To be honest, I did not expect much from this TV, which is being sold at a throwaway price, still, I took it out of curiosity to find out what level of performance we can get from the cheapest TV on the market.

However, the performance of this TV shocked me. Its performance is not second to those 32 inches TVs, which are being sold at around Rs 20,000. Both, its picture and audio quality, are pretty good.

Theoretically, the 250 Nits brightness might sound less, but, for playing SDR contents on a 32-inch screen, it looks pretty sufficient.

Out of the box, the settings of the TV are not that good. This is the reason why my initial impression of this TV was just, "Above Average". And then, the settings option on this TV is not readily available, so I was not able to do the proper settings of this TV.

Directly through the TV, you don't find the settings option in individual applications, it is available only on the home screen.

But when you connect it to a set-top box or an Android TV box, you easily get the settings option. The multiple setting options that you get on this small TV are a pleasant surprise.

And then, these advanced settings are pretty effective too. Below these Preset Modes, there are three dots, when you will click on these dots, apart from other settings, the advanced image and sound options also get displayed on the screen.

These are some settings that I have done on this TV, you can note them down. And I would ask those people who have already purchased this TV, to apply these settings to their TVs and observe the vast difference in picture quality.

When I connected this TV to an Android TV box, I got 4K video support on YouTube, and, believe me, the picture quality turned out to be brilliant on this 32-inch screen, which made me feel as if I was watching some real 4k content on it.
The colours of this TV are very good. You get to see very vibrant and deep colours on it. In addition to this, the colour accuracy of this TV is very good. Gold and shimmering colours are much enhanced on this TV.

Honestly speaking, the shine in gold that I observed on this TV is a rare occurrence even on very high-range TVs. You get to see very deep Blacks on this TV, because of this, the colours get accentuated.

Apart from very deep Blacks and vibrant colours, you get very good picture clarity on this TV. The pictures, apart from being sharp, look overall attractive.

Though this TV does not support Netflix and Hotstar, this Netflix trailer on YouTube indicates, that if you watch Netflix programs through any Android TV box they will look pretty good on this TV.

As this is an HD-ready TV, SD channels get played in their best quality and HD channels also look very good.

If we talk about the motion blur, it is hardly noticeable on this small screen TV.  Though the company has not given any information related to the panel used, I believe it is a VA panel TV!

Despite this, the viewing angles are pretty good. Even when you see the pictures from the side, there is no noticeable colour distortion. If your family sits at varied angles, they can comfortably watch this TV.

The audio of this small screen TV is pretty loud and clear. To listen to the audio clearly, you will not need any soundbar with it. The audio of this TV is sufficient for a medium to a big-sized room.

If you go to the audio settings and make some changes to the equalizer settings, the audio comes out even better.

If we talk about the smartness of this TV, then this is where the TV is seen in a little poor light! As this is a Linux-based TV, it does not come with an Android OS, because of which you can only play those applications which are given on this TV.

However, YouTube can be played smoothly on it and there you get the support of up to 1080p resolution.

Though excluding Netflix and Disney Hotstar, you get mostly all applications on it, still, some of the given applications come with limited content accessibility.

A message gets flashed on the TV that this content is not supported on your device. However, there is also a browser on the TV, through which, apart from Netflix and Disney Hostar you can play other applications, the experience over there is not good. Though the OS of the TV is slow, YouTube works smoothly, you do not face any problem on it.

Some given applications do not provide that fluid experience, which you get on an Android TV. Despite this lacuna, I will say that this is a superb TV!

The picture quality that you get on it is a rare occurrence even on big brand TVs. This is the reason why we should overlook this weakness.

In my opinion, the foremost thing that matters on a TV is its picture quality, because, later, you cannot enhance it through any external device, whereas, the audio and smartness can be enhanced anytime through a soundbar and an Android TV box!

As of now, this TV is perfect for your set-top box or watching YouTube and some other applications.

If at some point, later on, you feel that the smartness is not enough, you can always go for an Android TV box, which will play all your favourite applications smoothly.

So friends, only this much for today. Now, meet you in my next post, till then, take care and stay safe.
