Borsso BS30 FHD Projector Review

Vemuda Techno - So, Friends, the wait is finally over! I am here, today, with the review of that superb projector, for which you had been waiting impatiently for over a month.

As of now, at this price point, or you can even say under 40k, there is no other projector in the market that gives this level of performance.

Its picture quality is very close to a bright TV, due to which, now, I have permanently switched over from my 65 inches 4k TV to watching programs on this very projector.

Initially, I started with Wzatco S4, then S6, after that I switched over to Borsso BS28, and now, this is my favorite projector on which I watch all shows and movies.

Today, I will tell you this projector alongside a very good TV, which will give you an idea of its picture quality.

So now, let's start with the unboxing of this amazing Borsso BS30 projector. This is an upgraded version of the Borsso BS28 projector, and, it comes in the same box in which Borsso BS28 is being sent to you.

Inside the Box, apart from the projector, is a power cord, a remote, an AV cable and a Borsso card.

The built quality of the projector is fairly decent. It gets a metallic Black brushed finish on the upper surface. And, on the front, it has a matt grey metallic finish. For the protection of the lens, a plastic cover has been provided.

On the upper surface, this time, there are touch buttons, which do impart this projector a stylish and premium appeal. Besides the lens, the Borsso branding is given in Gold and there is an IR blaster.

A chrome lining is given around the lens, which enhances the looks of this projector. On this side, there is a focus wheel and a dust filter is also there on this projector. To keep it cool during operations, this projector has a number of vents.

On the rear, there is a power port, an AV port, a headphone jack, 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports apart from an IR blaster and speaker.

In order to mount this projector from the ceiling, provision for screw threads have been provided beneath its legs.

A single screw has been provided underneath this projector, on the front, through which you can adjust its height during projection.

The built quality of the remote is decent. It is the same remote that comes with the BS28 projector. Apart from picture settings you get almost all functions on it.

Coming to the features and specifications of this projector; It comes with almost similar specifications as the Borsso BS28 projector.

The only difference is that this projector comes with enhanced brightness and contrast ratio because of which its overall picture quality gets enhanced.

Nowadays, on Amazon, sellers are labeling their FHD projectors as 4k and terming their 720p projectors as 1080p, but, this Borsso projector is a true FHD projector that comes with a native resolution of 1080p.

According to the company, its peak brightness is 7200 Lumens, lamp life 50,000 hours and contrast ratio 15000:1.

The company claims that this projector is capable of projecting a screen size of a maximum of 300 inches and a minimum of 45 inches. It has a 4D digital keystone correction, apart from the electronic Zoom feature.

This is an Android projector that comes with Wi-Fi and Miracast. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.

For Audio, there are 3W surround sound stereo speakers. Through HDMI, this FHD projector also supports 4k videos on YouTube.

Now, coming to the real performance of this projector; Friends, none of the budget projectors has more than 4000 lumens brightness.

As of now, this is the brightest projector, and, its real brightness, too, lies around this value only. All companies that stake claim to exaggerated brightness and contrast ratio values are misguiding customers.

Before this, Borsso BS28 was the brightest projector, now, BS30 has broken its record and occupied the slot.

Today, I will show you its performance mostly in an illuminated room, so that you yourself can see how bright it is. Even when you will project it in a dark room, the entire room will get illuminated.

The performance of this projector even in an illuminated room is remarkable. As the brightness of this projector is very good, its performance looks like a TV.

However, like a TV, you will not feel any eye strain or headache even if you watch programs on it for long hours.

You can see that the lights are switched on in this hall, still, the performance of this projector is looking pretty good, even in front of this TV.

Finer details are definitely more on the TV as it is playing this video in a 4k resolution, whereas, this projector only has support for 4k videos. However, overall this difference is not so apparent as to make this difference glaring.

I watch all Netflix's web series on this projector for long hours, and, trust me, I wholly enjoy them. Dark scenes, too, play beautifully through this projector with good detail clarity.

The colour reproduction of this projector is pretty good you get to see vivid colours on it. In addition to this, the pictures' display excellent detail clarity and sharpness.

This projector comes with HDR, which you can enable in the settings and through an Android TV box, the HDR seems to be effective, too.

The colours of this projector are pretty accurate. In comparison to other projectors, this one displays a wider colour gamut. As its contrast ratio is pretty good, the Blacks on this projector look fairly deep.
When connected to any good Android TV box, you get to see a fairly nice picture upscaling. See, for yourself, even this 480p content is playing nicely through this projector.

Coming to motion handling; Motion blur doesn't create any major problem on this projector. In fast action scenes, sometimes you do get to see some blur, but it is not much evident.

As Text appear well-focused and sharp on this projector, this projector is totally apt for teaching purpose or giving presentations in an illuminated room.

Though you can project a screen size of 300 inches, through this projector, I will prescribe a maximum size of 130 inches, so that you get its best performance.

On this projector, you get the same good cinematic experience as got in a Cinema Hall. From a 10 feet distance, this projector can form a screen size of 100 inches, so even if your room size is smaller, you can still set it up in your room.

During this Pandemic period, when activity is limited to indoors, you can enjoy the latest movies, web shows, programs,  and matches at home along with your family.

You can connect your DVD player, Play Station, set-top box, Android TV box and Fire TV stick to this Projector.

Though 3D content can be watched on this projector through Red and Blue glasses, for a real 3D experience you will need a DLP projector, which supports active shutter glasses.

I have left the link to the cheapest FHD DLP projector in the description box. I have also reviewed that projector, if you wish you can watch its review.

Coming to its audio; The audio of this projector is fairly good. The sound apart from being loud is clear and quality-rich.

Its audio is second best amongst budget projectors, the first slot is occupied by Wanbo T6 Max. The dialogue clarity of this Borsso BS30 projector is pretty good and you get to hear some bass too.

I have not connected it to any speaker as its audio is more than enough for my room, but if you want a cinema-hall-like experience you will need a home theatre with it.

Coming to it Smartness, this is an Android projector. But, here again, I would like to clear some myths related to it. In none of the projectors, you get an official Android like a TV, even if it comes with the latest Android OS.

That is why all these projectors have smartphone-based applications, which are unofficially put into these projectors..The Android in none of the projectors is Google certified.

On the big screen of the projectors, the content of these applications play only in 480p, and, thereby look pretty bad. I cannot tolerate their picture quality even for a minute.

Only the performance of YouTube videos is worth seeing, but that too, enhances drastically, when seen through an Android TV box.

During the Wanbo T6 Max projector review, in the Avengers' scene, I have shown this difference.

The content played through these applications displays very low brightness and pixelation is also much evident. This is the reason why I never watch content directly through any projector. I use Mi TV Box or Meecool TV box, then only, I get the best picture quality on projectors.

The smartness of Android projectors is worthless! The only benefit that you get by buying an Android projector is that most manufacturers give electronic 4-point Keystone correction in their Android projectors.

And, to set up any projector perfectly, this feature is very important. A manual keystone correction feature gives the best screen only from the front.

From the sides, you can never get a perfect screen on them. And, because of this, the overall picture quality suffers.

Aun AKEY6, which was once the best projector around, did not have this 4-point keystone correction feature on it, and now, in front of the latest brighter projectors, it stands far behind.

So running around after a projector just because it had the latest Android OS is nothing but a fallacy.

Apart from this, generally, only Android projectors are graced with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which is required to cast the content of your smartphones on the big screen of the projector.

But, as all Android TV boxes come with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and, in the end, you will definitely need to purchase an Android TV box or Fire TV Stick for watching content in high quality, you will get these features on them.

So, even if you are getting a non-android projector with 4D keystone correction, you should go with it without a second thought.

Though you can play almost all the applications on this Android projector, the applications will have the UI of a smartphone only.

Only YouTube will play in 1080p resolution, but that content too will look better through an Android TV box.

Though this projector comes with a Miracast feature, I found lag while casting the content of my Samsung Smartphone. For Miracast, you need to keep your phone and this projector in the same Wi-Fi network.

The noise of the fan running in this projector, though, not very high, clearly draws your attention. However, when you start playing programs on it, the fan noise drowns behind the loud audio.

Now, let's talk about the aftersales services of this projector. The Borsso company gives a year warranty on this projector.

The foremost thing about this company is that you do not need to pay for the courier services during the warranty period. The company has given me assurance regarding good aftersales services. Now, Borsso have launched the Borsso BS30 Pro as the upgrade version of Borsso BS30. Or you can compare it with BenQ DLP 3D Projector and Wanbo T2R Max FHD Projector

So friends, hope you liked this post, meet you in my next post, till then take care and stay safe.
