Kairi, Onic Esports win MPL ID S10 grand final, earn M4 slot

Onic Esports, led by Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol and coach Denver "Yeb" Miranda, were named champions of MPL Indonesia after beating defending champion RRQ Hoshi, 4-1, in their Season 10 grand finals match on October 23, 2022.

It was a victory of retribution for Onic Esports, who had been relegated to the lower bracket by RRQ and had to eliminate Aura Fire to earn the final spot in the grand final.

With their win, Onic Esports bagged a total of USD 140,000 (around PHP 8.2 million) from the USD 300,000 prize pool and a slot for the M4 World Championship. Meanwhile, runners-up RRQ Hoshi took home USD 67,200 (roughly PHP 3.9 million).

Kairi, who had already been named MVP of the regular season, was also awarded MVP of the Grand Finals. He was also previously given the award of best jungler.

This is the first MPL title received by Kairi and coach Yeb. The two were members of Onic Philippines, which finished second in Season 8 of the MPL Philippines and second in the M3 World Championship behind Blacklist International.

Earning a spot in M4 World Championship, Onic Esports will be competing with 16 other teams. Kairi and coach Yeb will be facing qualified squads, such as Blacklist International, Echo PH, and Burn x Team Flash.

On the other hand, Filipino coach Michael "Arcadia" Bocado, who most recently coached Echo in the MPL PH before switching to RRQ this season, will also join M4 as a result of the team's second-place finish.

From January 1 to 15, 2023, the M4 World Championship will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The MOBA game's biggest tournament will have a prize pool of USD 800,000 (roughly PHP 47 million).
