Rainbow Six Mobile opens pre-registration for Android ahead of CBT

Rainbow Six Mobile (R6M) is now available for pre-registration for Android users via the Google Play Store. Recently, Ubisoft announced that the free-to-play tactical first-person shooter (FPS) mobile game will have its first close beta test (CBT) this fall, sometime around late September – late December 2022.

Rainbow Six Mobile, a 5v5 game that is still part of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six franchise, has been in the works for 3 years and is the mobile port of Rainbow Six (R6) Siege, a popular PC and console game by Ubisoft. The first game in the R6 series was released in 1998.

Alpha version of the game appeared to be in good condition and nearly complete (or at least suitable for a global launch with some additions). It is likely that Ubisoft is preparing to release it so that players can finally enjoy a brand-new AAA game.

R6M, which is being developed by Ubisoft, appears to be a mobile-device-optimized replica of the original. It was one of the highly anticipated announcements of the year, giving mobile gamers something to look forward to.

How to pre-register for Rainbow Six Mobile on Android?

  • To pre-register for Rainbow Six Mobile, go to the game's page on the Google Play Store.
  • Tap on the "Pre-register" button, and you will be notified when the game will be available. (You also have the option "Install when available" to automatically install the game once it is released.)

For the CBT, the shooter game is only available to Android devices. They will run a separate test for iOS users.

"We are working hard on our iOS version and there will be a future technical test dedicated only to iOS," said Ubisoft in a tweet.

Rainbow Six Mobile Overview

R6 Mobile will launch with two maps, Bank and Border, according to a video released by the company in April of this year. Nonetheless, the official website indicated that all operators would soon have access to the revised map.

At launch, there will be 16 operators, each with their own set of skills and abilities. The game's two distinct operator categories, Attackers and Defenders, each include eight characters.

Attackers
  • Ash
  • Sledge
  • Thatcher
  • Thermite
  • Hibana
  • Ying
  • Twitch
  • Glaz

Defenders
  • Bandit
  • Jager
  • Mute
  • Rook
  • Valkyrie
  • Smoke
  • Caveira
  • Kapkan

Each player may choose one operator per round, and once an operator has been chosen, it cannot be selected again by other players. In addition, players can earn in-game currency through gameplay, allowing them access to the game's additional operators.

Rainbow Six Mobile's gameplay mechanics are identical to those of the PC version of R6 Siege, but the game does not support cross-platform play with consoles or PCs.
