Discover your passion in life | Follow your passion | All you need to know about - Akhbaar Express
“Follow your passion”, “do what you like”, “don’t sleep until you get your goal” or “maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but one day I will be the champion”.
There are lots of quote like this and I am very sure, you all read quotes in insta, Facebook and in other social media handle, that’s good but what if I say it’s the second step toward the goal, first step is to select the right goal and lots of people skip that "right" word, they choose goal which may be recommended by elder, friends or for greed of money and fame from that goal. Choosing the right passion/goal is most important before stepping toward it. Most people succeed in life but regret choosing that passion, they get money and fame but they wouldn’t get satisfaction.
“Its better to do one’s own dharma imperfectly than to do another’s perfectly”
- Bhagavad Gita
For choosing right passion, we should know about our, strength and weakness. We should cultivate our strength rather than ignoring it. In our society, we focus on strengthening the weakness rather than building the strength. Improving weakness is good but building strength is outstanding. In schools and colleges, if a student gets A in three subjects and D in two subjects, teachers and parents force him to focus more on that D. We have to realise that we don’t have to do everything, we can’t be good at everything. Instead of focusing on weakness, we should learn to cultivate our strength.
But we can be everything we are”
Realise your passion
Realising passion is that hard, you just need to study yourself and that doesn't mean doing meditation, yoga and all. Study yourself mean, you should know your strength and weakness or like and dislike.
Plus, your passion should have some purpose.
The simplest way to check it is, pay attention to how an idea or activity feels in your body, stop listening to your mind for once and feel your body. When you imagine yourself in that process, do you feel joy? Does that idea appeal to you? Then, when you actually do that, how does your body respond?
Realising passion is a natural process, there is not any magical process to realise it. You have to pay attention, cultivate self-awareness, cultivate your strength, and you will find it. Once you discover your passion, follow it.

Quadrant of Potential
| 1. Skill but no passion | 2. Skill and Passion |
| 3. No skill and no passion | 4. No skill but passion |
In the above quadrant, if I ask you all in which quadrant you want to spend your time, you all will choose to be in quadrant two: doing things that we’re both good at and love. But life doesn’t work out that way. Actually, most of us find ourselves in quadrant one: doing what we're good at and don’t love. When we have free time, we spent our time in quadrant four: doing things that we’re not good at but love it, it can be our hobbies and extracurricular activity. We also spend our time in quadrant third: its super depressing quadrant, doing thing we’re neither good at nor love. We rarely spend time in quadrant two. Out for quadrant, we want to live in quadrant second: doing thing we’re both good at and love.
Quadrant One
People spend lots of time in quadrant one, they don’t love what they are doing but have good skill in that work. People want to change their work, but most of them can’t jump into the job they love which also come with a good salary. We need a practical approach toward this. Instead of making huge career change, we should look for the opportunity to do what you love, you already have.
Plus, you have to find why you don’t love your job. Is it because of your boss, job timing or colleagues? Can you find a reason to love it? Some people have all the skill to do good work, but they find work meaningless. The perfect way to bring meaning in the job is to find out how it might help you in the future. Learn to find meaning and it will serve you all your life.
Quadrant four
When you love your passion but can’t do it well or not frequently enough to enjoy it and you feel frustrated too. Then you are in quadrant four. The simplest way to correct it is by improving your skill of what you love. But when I ask you to learn it, most of you say, “I don’t have time”. This is where you get wrong.
Everyone has time, it depends upon us, what’s our priority? If you don’t have 2-3hr, but at least you can arrange minimum 30 min to learn something new from YouTube.
In the last few years, people are earning through the weirdest things. Spending any amount of time on it. However, you don’t have to pay for or not want your passion and giving you fun, then fine. Accept that. Lots of people love watching cricket and football but all of them don’t need to play football and cricket.
Quadrant three
You are neither good at nor love doing that thing, then you are in quadrant three. You need to crawl out from this quadrant as fast as possible. This may be the biggest part of your life. Hurt the pocket, save the mind and crawl out from this quadrant as soon as possible.
Quadrant two
The perfect one, you want to live in this quadrant where you are doing things in which you are both good and love doing it. Your life will be good in this quadrant.
Most important, every task is as essential as our organs. None is less important than others. Similarly, each task is equally important. If you think you are good at something, you will be worse in some other thing.
