PLDT No Dial Tone: How to Fix and Troubleshoot
PLDT Home Fiber and DSL customers expect landline services to be working at all times of the day, but this is not always the case. If your telephone has no dial tone, you can't make calls or receive calls, which is a very annoying experience. To fix this issue, you can check the guide below.
How to fix PLDT Fiber no dial tone issue?
If your Fiber landline has no dial tone/incoming/outgoing, static, or has crosstalk, you can do the following troubleshooting tips to resolve the problem.
1. Ensure that the PLDT Fibr modem is properly turned on.
Make sure your modem's power adaptor is properly plugged in. And ensure that your modem is turned on or the power button is pressed.
2. Check the light indicators of your modem.
Check the power and LED indicators of your PLDT Home Fibr modem. The power light must be steady green. If lights are off, color red or the LED indicators are blinking, check if the power adapter of the modem is properly connected to the active power supply. VoIP must be steady green.
The light indicators of a Fibr modem should look this if it's working properly:
3. Perform power cycle.
Turn the PLDT modem off for 5 minutes and then back on to refresh your connection. Wait for the modem to synchronize within 3 minutes. Check the status of the modem's light indicators.
4. Check the telephone connection.
Check for any loose or damaged telephone cables and wires. If the telephone cable (RJ11) is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
Ensure that the telephone cable (RJ11) from the telephone is properly connected to the Phone 1 slot at the back of your modem.
5. Check the telephone handset.
Check for any noise or static sound. Check also the telephone coil cord (RJ9) port if damaged.
Press the plunger for at least 5 seconds. If the plunger stays down, the telephone unit is defective. Check if there is a problem with your telephone unit by connecting another telephone unit to the line.
6. Pick a good spot for your telephone unit.
Make sure that the telephone unit is away from any electronic devices to experience high-quality calls.
7. Use another telephone.
If you have a spare telephone set, you may use it to isolate the source of the problem.
How to fix PLDT DSL no dial tone issue?
If your DSL landline has no dial tone/incoming/outgoing, static, or has crosstalk, you can do the following troubleshooting steps to fix the problem.
1. Check the telephone connection.
Check for any loose or damaged cables. If the telephone cable (RJ11) is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
Unplug and replug the telephone cable (RJ11) from the telephone unit port and splitter's telephone port.
Further, check if there is a problem with the splitter by unplugging the telephone cable (RJ11) from the splitter and connecting it directly to the connecting block (conduit). If you hear a dial tone, the splitter might be defective.
2. Check the telephone handset.
Check for any sounds of noise or static. Inspect the telephone coil cord (RJ9) port if damaged.
Press the plunger for a minimum of five seconds. If the plunger is stuck down, the telephone unit is faulty. Connect a different telephone unit to the line to determine if yours is malfunctioning.
3. Check the phone's volume.
Check that the ringer is on and the volume turned up. Verify that the phone's volume is not so low as to interfere with incoming audio.
4. Charge the batteries (for wireless phones).
If you're using a wireless telephone, make sure that the phone's battery is fully charged.
5. Check the modem's light indicators.
