Today’s blog topic is about increasing unemployment. Every country is suffering with this problem. In India, the unemployment rate rose from 7.1% in May to 7.8% in June as per CMIE report. Experts are even saying, this rate is going to increase more in august. With this, employment rate is also fell down to 35% in June, which is the lowest of last two year. So, less than 36 per cent of the working age population in India was employed in June 2022, We are at 86th rank in the unemployment rating in the world.

Last two year is not good for any country. Pandemic affect India largely in term of economic activity as well as human life. Every sector adversely effect in this pandemic. Lots of people lost there job in last two year. Pandemic is major reason of unemployment rate, pandemic badly affect out employment rate.

What is the reason for unemployment?

Mentality

Everyone is criticizing the government for unemployment. What do you think? Is this government’s duty to provide job? 

So yes, its government duty, a good government provides job to their people. This job includes private and public both.

Here the problem is, people relate employment directly to the government job, means if there is a government job then there is employment otherwise not. You must have heard in news that, thousand of people apply for 200 vacancy. Most of youth are wasting there time in preparation. In India, tradition is to earn but without working hard, do corruption and let not the country grow.

Education System

The high rate of unemployment in graduated student is also because of poor schooling as well as the mediocre quality of education on offer at most colleges. Colleges give us the degree but they do not teach us the skills that are required in a company. Even there are also some graduates who can’t even make their own resume by themself. How can you expect from them that they will get a good job in the company? 

As per the report of National Achievement Survey 2022, there is around 34 lakhs students in India of class 3, 5, 8, and 10 in 1.14 lakhs school in 720 district. The national average score of all subject and of all level was found to be lower than previous report and the performance get worse as the student reach higher classes. We need to improve the quality of education system and teacher have to try new innovative method to teach student and government need to makes changes in education policy.

Population

Population, which is major concern in every sector. Our population is increasing with 1% annual rate. Our current population is 138 crore out of which 80 crore are youth. This increasing population, increasing burden on economic infrastructure of country and also increase the ratio of labours to total population increase. Already there is lots of competition, increasing population is just going to increase competition and cause lots of problems in countries.

Key to controlling the population is education and access to birth control. Teaching people proper family planning and increase awareness about how overpopulation affect the availability of both environmental and man - made resources.

What is the government doing?

Government implements lots of schemes year by year to provide opportunities. The State Government provides money allowance for unemployed people. The government also stated various schemes for people

•       Pradhan mantri Kaushal vikas yojana

•       Start–up India

•       Stand–up India  

•       Skill India  

Government should look into problems like paper leaks, delays in conducting exams, delays in sending the joining letters, delays in re-exams, and also lots of delays in many other processes. Government should look into this matter and take some strict steps toward this. A student who prepared a whole year for the exam and the exam got canceled due to some paper leak, is very wrong. Government has to make strict laws about it. So that students who are preparing day and night for exams don’t have to suffer.

Plus, there are also lots of vacancies in the private sector, so people should also try there. Private companies are providing lots of good packages with allowances to eligible candidates. Lots of companies are coming to India and providing jobs to youth.
