Facebook: How to Turn Off Active Status on Desktop
On Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computers, use the Facebook website to disable active status.
Step No. 1: First, open a web browser on your computer and launch the Facebook site.

Step No. 3: Click the three dots at the top of the messenger box.

Tip: To reactivatethe active status in the future, choose turn on Active Status from the Chat Settings menu.
Step No. 5: The Active Status field with three options is displayed. Each of the 3 options are as follows.
Turn off Active status for all contacts:Select this option to disable active status for all contacts.
Turn off Active status for all contacts except:Select this option if you want to show active status only to specific people. Select this option to enter the names of these people.
Turn off active status only for some contacts:Select this option to hide active status from specific people. Select this option to enter the names of these people.
Step No. 6:After selecting the option, click OKat the bottom of the Active Statusfield.

Use the Facebook app to hide active status on your iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone.
