Menstruation is monthly shedding of the lining of womans uterus, but sometimes due to imbalance in the hormones because of a wrong lifestyle some face menstrual disorders. Today we are going to discuss one such disorder which is very common in ladies and that is heavy menstruation.

Due to this heavy menstrual bleeding, some have very severe pain in their abdomen, cramps and uneasy feeling. Extreme moodiness, binge eating, hot flushes and redness around the breast, sore breast. All these symptoms can vary from woman to woman and sometimes it could be really severe. What can you do to prevent heavy bleeding. 

Diet is an important factor. Addition of fresh fruits into your dietery routine is highly recommended. Specially for the first 5 to 7 days during periods.You can add fruits such as grapes, oranges, apples pears, peaches pineapples and melons. Have more of fruits once or twice in a day, the bowels should be cleared daily, once or even twice in a day by drinking of warm water in the morning.

1. Dates

Dates are very very effective superfood for your reproductive health, it is rich in iron as well as firbres and is optimal to restore energy levels in your body. Date can be dipped in the ghee in the morning and can be eaten.

2. Aloevera

Aloevera is helpful in controlling and managing your hormones and this in turn will regulate your periods. For best results take fresh aloevera gel and add one tablespoon full of honey and take it first thing in the morning.

3. Turmeric

Has many medicinal properties and it must be consumed to regulate the periods. Person must take a cup of hot milk with haldi and a spoon of honey at night before going to bed. Incase when the problems are a little more person can have in milk what is called as halim or garden cress seeds. This has a peppery tangy and a very good flavoured aroma. 

This also could be added and you can take at night but the way in which you should take this. Those halim should be soaked in milk for 2-3 hours and then added and then take at night, fresh it would be beautiful. This is beneficial in curing period cramp and adding halim would really help in cystic acme too. 

Herbs like ginger, cinnamon and cloves could be taken in the morning with the tea. A woman should see that the nutrition in the body is perfect and that why person must consume millets, jowar bajra and such products. Lentils like varities of dals milk and milk product and varities of vegetables including root vegetables too.

4. Seed Cycling

The 1st 14 days of your menstrual cycle makes up the follicular phase while the following 14 days makes up the leitum phase so understand this very well,1-14 days that is menstruation to ovulation you need to consume 1-2 tablespoon of ground flax seeds and pumpkin seeds each. 

Now 15-20th day of your cycle that is ovulation to menstruation you must consume 1-2 tablespoon of ground sunflower and sesame seeds. During this phase of menstruation, calcium level goes down as well as iron level goes down so person must eat food rich in iron and calcium. During this time a woman should avoid heavy activity and exercises.

So try and see that you can take are of these things.When the woman realizes that the heavy bleeding has become its character then a person hould find out the real cause of heavy bleeding. It could be something else too and it has to be treated specifically. A woman must use all these things to help herself.

One thing more that if the periods are very heavy person ten days before period should do a hip bath. A woman should do hip bath so that a woman will be able to regulate period very well.
