ARISTOTLE'S MODEL OF COMMUNICATION
1.WHAT IS THE ARISTOTLE'S MODEL OF COMMUNICATION?
Aristotle,a great philosopher initiative the earliest and simplest mass communication model called "ARISTOTLE'S model of communication ".He approached model before 300.B.C,who found the importance of audience role in communication chain in his communication model.This model is basically focused on public speaking than interpersonal communication in the society.This model is mainly discussed about speaker and speech. The Aristotle's communication model is a speaker centered model as the speaker or the public who speakes has the most important role in it and is the only one active.
2.ELEMENTS OF THE MODEL-
Aristotle model of communication is formed with 5 basic elements
A.speaker
B.speech
C.occasion
D.audience
E .effect
3.CENTRAL IDEA OF THIS MODEL-
The main idea of this model is Aristotle advises speakers to build speak for different audience on different effects.
Speaker plays an important role in public speaking. The speaker must prepare his or her speech and analysis audience needs before he or she enters into the stage or field. His or her words should influence in audience 's mind or attract the audience's attitude and persuade their thoughts towards him or her.
4.THE MAIN PART OF THIS MODEL-
In this model speaker plays the most important role in communication and it is the only one who holds the responsibility to influence his or her audience through public speaking. It is the speaker's role to deliver a speech to the audience. The audience is passive, influenced by the speech. This makes the communication process one way,from speaker to receiver.
A. SPEAKER-The speaker must organize and prepare his or her speech beforehand, according to his or her target audience. He or she is the main part of this model.
B. SPEECH- The speech must be easy and clear as well as the compact in language. There shouldn't be any bias words in the speech. The speech must be convincing, influencing and admiring ,that public will easily gets the main thing or gets the main touch.
C. OCCASION- In this model occasion means,where the speaker gives his or her proper speech to influence the public in the society. So we can say that, occasion is the field of communication through which speaker deals his or her speech with the audience.
D. AUDIENCE- Audience is the most passive form of this model. Audience acts like receiver,who receives the speaker's message and gets influenced.
E. EFFECTS- In this model,the reaction of the audience after hearing the speech will be the "EFFECTS" of the model.
LIKE- A politician (speaker) gives a speech to get votes from the public (audience) at the time of election (occasion). The public will give vote if they are influenced by the things the politician says in his or her speech . So,that is the effect of this type of communication.
5.EXAMPLES OF THIS MODEL-

B. FAMOUS KING BABORE GAVE HIS SPEECH IN THE BATTLE OF PANIPAT. SPEAKER- BABORE SPEECH- ABOUT THE WAR FIELD OCCASION-BATTLE OF PANIPAT. AUDIENCE- SOLDIERS EFFECT- WON THE BATTLE OF PANIPAT AGAINST IBRAHIM LODI.
6.CRITICISMS OF ARISTOTLE'S MODEL OF COMMUNICATION-
A. This type of model can only be used in public speaking.
B. There is no concept of communication failure like noise and barriers.
C. There is no concept of feedback, it is one way from speaker to audience. D. Speaker is the ultimate source of communication, but audience gets their role as a passive way,like they can't give their feedback in the field.
